High time for new solutions
New drive forms such as electricity and hydrogen are inspiring designers to completely rethink the exterior and interior. After all, the car is increasingly becoming a living and well-being space. This results in ultra-high standards for comfort and design. Functionality conquers the entire interior including the roof-lining. The exterior is also changing. As the engine sound ceases to exist, lighting technology takes over: Helping vehicles communicate with other road users like indicating in advance that the car is about to brake or change lanes.
Despite being focused on creativity, sustainability is always a crucial aspect to KURZ. It influences the choice of materials and, of course, the design. Nature has always been our role model here at KURZ. It inspires us to create fantastic solutions that have won many awards. In a nutshell: WOW!

KURZ & SWAROVSKI
What would be the outcome if high value crystals were combined with smart sensor technology, plus innovative and haptic surface decoration? The result would be a luxury Human Machine Interface panel – a functional component for vehicle interiors. Through the innovative sensor technology of the KURZ group, handmade SWAROVSKI crystals can become a functional and attractive automotive component. The haptics of crystals are not known by many customers yet, so the opportunity becomes more interesting for companies within the luxury segment.

HMI and backlighting – the winning team in the interior of tomorrow
Without backlighting, the interior remains a sealed surface. Many functions remain hidden until they are activated by touch or gesture. Shy Tech is set to become a major trend in the future. Innovative lighting concepts combined with a sophisticated HMI form a perfect symbiosis of design and functionality. Ease of use is the motto here: Simple operation, which intuitively supports the driver, who gathers all the information at a glance - from the drive and functionality to tank and energy reserves. KURZ has already developed numerous HMI concepts, some of which have been awarded prizes, such as Interior Panel Fading Lines and the Cloudy Feathers door trim panel.
Just as invisible as the functions behind the Shy Tech designs are the PolyTC® sensors, which facilitate functional control in the first place. Thanks to their metal mesh structure, they are almost completely radiolucent and adapt perfectly and securely to multi-dimensional surfaces. Looking for convincing HMI solutions?
